What You Need to Be Eating & Planting in November in Florida

It’s officially my favorite time of year! And no I am not talking about the holiday season, I am talking about ORANGE SEASON! I have always loved oranges so much and for the next couple of months the oranges are going to be in season and are oh so good. If you live in Florida you can find these delicious juicy babies on almost every intersection and I take full advantage of it.

Some other foods that are in season this month are:

  • Avocado
  • Almonds
  • Bell Peppers
  • Cranberries
  • Cucumbers
  • Eggplant
  • Grapefuit
  • Peanuts
  • Mushrooms
  • Oranges (obviously)
  • Permissions
  • Pomegranate
  • Passion Fruit
  • Radishes
  • Snapbeans
  • Squash
  • Sweetcorn
  • Tangerines
  • Tomatoes
  • Walnuts

The following image I got from the University of Florida website and it best explains what things you should be planting by seed and transplanting in all of Florida’s regions. Their website has a lot of really good gardening information if you want further education on the subject.

Some fresh strawberries I bought from a farmer’s market in Mt. Dora

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday and found something to be thankful for. I am really thankful for my husband, my poodle, my health and that I live in Florida of course!
