What’s In Season & What You Should Be Planting In August & September

One of the many, many reasons I love Florida so much is that there is never a shortage of fresh fruits and veggies and I know I am not the only one so I went ahead and compiled a list of the fruits and vegetables that are in season right now as well as the produce that can be planted now. There are a few different planting zones in Florida but this list is just the 8s and 9s.

The following is a list of produce that is in season in August and September:

  • Avocado
  • Carambola (or Star Fruit)
  • Grapefruit
  • Guava
  • Mushrooms
  • Oranges (starting in September)
  • Passionfruit
  • Peanuts
  • Tangerines (starting in September)

  • Beans
  • Beets
  • Broccoli
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Cauliflower
  • Corn
  • Cucumbers
  • Onions
  • Kale
  • Lettuce
  • Peas
  • Spinich
  • Peppers
  • Squash
  • Tomatos
