We Fell in Love With the Palm Coast & Are Ready to Return!

A few weekends ago we didn’t really have anything going on and decided to pack a bag and head towards the coast. We ended up in the Palm Coast/Flagler Beach area and we loved it so much we are already planning another trip there so make sure to comment your recommendations for places to go. We also really need a place to watch our precious poodle Leia during the day so please don’t hesitate to let me know your recommendations!

The beaches on the east coast side of the state are very different than the beaches on the gulf side. For instance, the sand is brown on the east coast as opposed to the bright white sandy beaches on the gulf side. You can also drive on more beaches on the east coast side and park right on the sand. I am sure you can do this probably in some places off the Gulf too but it isn’t status quo. Both sides are gorgeous, so they have that in common. If you ever wanted to, you could watch the sun rise and set in the same day on a beach in Florida which is pretty unique. It also happens to be on my bucket list.

We drove in to St. Augustine for a while, but I didn’t really get any photographs because mostly we were just driving around since we had our poodle with us. We saw lots of things we wanted to do, however. St. Augustine is supposed to be the oldest city in North America and there are a lot of different historical tours and activities that we plan on doing on our next trip. It really was a beautiful city and we can’t wait to explore more of it.

Since this trip was really spur of the moment we mostly just explored the areas and hung out on a couple of different beaches in the Flagler and Palm Coast area. It’s really fun also to just drive down A1A along the coast. There are some really interesting and beautiful houses on the drive and the view of the ocean just can’t be beat.

We saw a ton of restaurants we want to try when we return but one we did get to try was Anthony’s East Coast Pizza in Palm Coast and it was really good! We prefer New York style pizza so this place was perfect for us. We also ordered some zeppoles and they were really good and there were plenty of them for us to have some the next day.

I hope that some of you reading this blog have lots of suggestions for things to do in St. Augustine and on the Palm Coast! Please don’t hesitate to comment them or email doti@itsmorethanbeaches.com We are especially in need of a trusted doggie day care.

Don’t forget to follow our Instagram and Facebook pages for daily photos and updates of what we are doing. Thank you so much for following along with us so far and for all the support!
